Indiana
We don’t have verified Indiana rules on file yet, so a report for a home here states no state legal requirements. It still flags what an estimate leaves out, and tells you to confirm permits with the local building department and licensing with the state board.
Federal, for AC and heat pump quotes
Minimum AC efficiency
A split-system central air conditioner made on or after January 1, 2023 must be rated at least 13.4 SEER2, and a split-system heat pump at least 14.3 SEER2 and 7.5 HSPF2.
